The Hidden Costs of Hamburgers: Americans eat an average of three burgers a week. That’s 156 burgers per person, every year. Maybe even more burgers are getting gobbled in the midst of this Chick-fil-A storm? The folks who made The Price of Gas last year, now bring us The Hidden Cost of Burgers with a cascade of daunting figures around our consumption of that all-American favorite. But what are the costs to our health and the environment? Is there anything we can do to lessen the impact? Watch the video above to find out more. This video was directed and produced by Carrie Ching at the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR) as part of the “Food for 9 Billion” project.
